Hedi’s Saint Laurent Girls 🎙️ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀᴋɪɴɢ ᴏꜰ ᴀ ᴍᴜꜱᴇ ᴄᴏʟʟᴇᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ. “From 2012 to 2016, Hedi Slimane personally selected or street-casted his models, cultivating a tight-knit community of debutants models, girls and boys who naturally exuded his recognizable silhouette and signature style. Hedi’s casting wasn’t about conventional supermodel beauty; instead, it celebrated artsy , indie musicians, and underground creatives, much like the original Indie Sleaze figures of the MySpace era (2005–2012). The Saint Laurent Girls were initially exclusive to the house, embodying Slimane’s singular vision. However, by 2012, his distinct casting style—favoring indie, artistic, and effortlessly cool outsiders—became one of the most influential trends in luxury fashion. As Milan and Paris sought to emulate his edgy, youth-driven aesthetic, his muses and their look-alikes dominated runways across Europe.
